【趣旨】
　Historically Islamic knowledge developed through generations of master-disciple relationships. The network of ulama as knowledge transfer process is key to examine historical development of Islamic knowledge. However, actuality of historical ulama network is very limitedly known due to lack of empirical verification.
　In Southeast Asia large amount of ijazah and silsila are uninvestigated. Many of them were issued in the Middle East by ulama from the Arab Peninsula, India, Kurdistan, Caucasus, and so on. By verifying such materials and interrelationships between materials, actuality of ulama network and its historical development can be unraveled. Visualization of data on ulama network based on historical materials can be also possible. It clarifies nodes and pathways in historical development of Islamic knowledge.
