“Historical Digital Globe” is a GIS application which is designed and under development by Hiroshi Goto, a co-investigator of C01 for temporal and spatial visualization of transfer of people and things. This workshop introduces its pilot product whose implementation is requested to Esri Japan, the vender of ArcGIS, and have a discussion about the subject with the participants’ comments. We would like to have a brainstorming discussion also about what data the participants have and whether we can visualize them.

A03 will hold a workshop “Trade and Social Contribution by Migrants” with B02.

C01″Digital Humanities” will hold a workshop with B01”Principles and State Systems of Islamic Community.” We will share the ways of machine-readable Arabic text creation and their problems and discuss how we can offer connectivity analyses through analyses of biographical dictionary.

This Project Area(Thiqa Project） recruits Publicly Offered Researches which start in 2021(FY). Organizer will hold an explanatory meeting on Publicly Offered Researches for persons who are planning to apply them.

B01 “The Ideas of the Muslim Community and State Systems” will hold a workshop with A01 “Mobility and Universality in the Islamic Economy.”

Field Science Colloquium “Present and Future of Historical Big Data Research” will be held by Field Science Center (FSC), ROIS-DS Center for Open Data in the Humanities / National Institute of Informatics, and C01 “Digital Humanities”.

We will hold the first general meeting on January 9th, 2021.
