The workshop “Trust Negotiated and Abandoned” will be jointly organized by Group B01 “The Ideas of the Muslim Community and State Systems”, Group A02 “Changes in the World of Islamic Thought and Knowledge”, and Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B), “Democracy by Violence in the Twentieth Century: A Transnational History” (18H00697).

Planned Research Group A3 “Migrants, Refugees, and Community Building” will hold a workshop “Syrian Refugee Women in Lebanon” with the group research “Restorative Justice and Gender in the Post-Conflict” of Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A) “Research Project on Islam and Gender: Towards a Comprehensive Discussion.”

B03 “Trust and Peace Building in Conflict Affected Areas” will hold a workshop where group members will discuss on the themes that will be developed in the research project (disclosed only to persons concerned in “Islamic Trust Studies”).

C01 and B01 will hold a workshop “Using Transkribus to explore networks in Islamicate societies: An introductory guide” on May 29th, 2021.

Group B01 & B03 will hold a workshop “Capitulation and International Law”.

Planned Research Group A01 “Mobility and Universality in the Islamic Economy” will hold a workshop with B01 “Ideas of the Muslim Community and State Systems.”

C01″Digital Humanities” and B01 “The Ideas of the Muslim Community and State Systems” will hold a workshop titled “How to Describe Social Interactions as Structured Data?: Knowledge Graph for Primary Source Contents.” This workshop will invite Mr. Jun OGAWA, majoring Ancient history of Europe as a presenter introducing how to describe and analyze human relationships stated in primary sources.

C01 “Digital Humanities” and A01 “Mobility and Universality in the Islamic Economy” will hold a workshop titled “The actual condition and practice of OCR for Arabic.” This workshop will perceive the actual condition of OCR for Arabic and digitizing the texts brought by the participants with OCR. Finally, the workshop will explain what we can do by using digitized text.

Group B03, ”Trust and Peace Building in Conflict Affected Area” will hold will hold a workshop for the exchange of views on the themes which the members will develop through our research project (disclosed only to persons concerned in “Islamic Trust Studies”). We hope you will be able to join the workshop on our report of preliminary considerations.

A02 “Conversion of the Islamic knowledge” & B02 “Trust Building Through Thought and Strategy” will hold a workshop.
