C01 “Digital Humanities” and A01 “Mobility and Universality in the Islamic Economy” will hold a workshop titled “The actual condition and practice of OCR for Arabic.” This workshop will perceive the actual condition of OCR for Arabic and digitizing the texts brought by the participants with OCR. Finally, the workshop will explain what we can do by using digitized text.

Please bring some pdf or jpeg files of texts which you would like to digitize(no restriction of number of sheets will be imposed, but 5 sheets should be more than enough to learn how to OCR).
